How do I make Preview be the Default in Safari?
I have acrobat installed, and every time I view a pdf through safari, it views it with acrobat. I want it to do it with Preview instead, but I don't know how!
in other words when I'm in Safari, and I click on a link of a pdf file, I want it to display the pdf in the browser with Preview instead of acrobat. any ideas? |

If you like Preview then why is Acrobat installed in the first place. Anyhow uninstall Acrobat then maybe Safari will give you a choice.

I didn't like the old preview for pdfs, but the new one is much better. I'm wondering how Steve Jobs did it in the keynote...

I need Acrobat to combine documents and shrink the resolution of embedded images for web viewing. Anyways I was in the same boat and it was pissing me off, but then I stumbled on this: http://forums.macosxhints.com/archiv...p/t-41059.html
Works again! |

A much better approach may be to follow the directions found here:
http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?...70404013904547 You should be able to tell Acrobat to not open PDFs in browsers by setting a preference in Acrobat. Easy! |
