...I installed a WinXP theme to annoy my brother/friend, and it changed the dock. None of the Aqua restore themes I've been able to find will change it back. Also the date/time in the upper right is white now, and won't change back. Any ideas?

Unless someone who really knows all the ins and outs of the Mac OS X GUI can tell you exactly what files it modified, I'd say your safest bet is to just reinstall the system.

transparent dock (its not on versiontracker... search google) has the option to reset the dock... try that.

I managed...

...to get everything back to normal (it involved restarting in 9 and copying things into the coreservices folder from my friend's machine), except for the clock, and the logout message. The clock is in white text now, and the logout message is still the SimpleX one. The SimpleX problem could be fixed by a SimpleX Aqua restore script, but I can't find one that works properly. I'm not sure how to fix the clock.
