iTunes keys

I was just playing with iTunes and hit some random keys while visual effects were on (as you do.) And the keys did stuff!

Now I might be a bit slow on this, but, chances are, there are others out there who didn't know about this. So here's a list of what the keys do when visual effects are on:

H or ?: help
F: show/hide frame rate
T: toggle frame rate capping
B: show Apple
I: track info
Q or W: change pattern
A or S: change shape
Z or X: change colour
N: toggle high contrast colours
R: random config
C: current config
M: freeze config
D: defaults

Cool, eh?
 
Yup! SoundJam's visual plug-ins had key settings too. I always keep my framerate on so I'm constantly reminded how crappy my Rage128Pro card is. 😀
 
I hear you man! I'd upgrade my graphics card in a flat second if I could... but I've got the good ol' PCI graphics G4 so I'm SOL. Another big reason why I'm chomping at the bit for a new PowerMac...

Unless:
a) your iMac is alaready on order, or
b) you have a PCI Mac,

go out and spend the $150 on a GF2MX-400. It's the best thing you could ever hope to do with an old Mac and $150.

That's $150 Australian, by the way. It's nice talking to an Aussie so I don't have to convert currencies and all that jazz!
 
no I went doen to nextbyte today
and they still have the 3400 hundered dollar macs
so I wacked a extra 256mb of ram in it
and I have to wait for for finance
earliest could be monday ( wish it was here now)
 
Sounds sweet.

I was on the list for an iMac at Next Byte (4th on the list) and Computers Now (40th on the list).

I ended up getting it from Computers Now(!) I called Next Byte to cancel my order, only to be told, 'oh, that's a shame, it came in a while ago, we just haven't got around to calling anyone yet.'

Nice service! They lost $4k plus residuals because they were too lazy to pick up the phone...

Oh well, I like CompNow better anyway.
