make leopard sized icons

Is it possible to take a 128x128 icon and "convert" or export it to a 512x512 icon that is cover flow ready? I tried to play around with icon composser and icon builder but so far no luck.

maybe someone who has done it before could give a newbie some advice on how to do so?
