Is there a way to remove some of the updates that come into the auto update window. The ipod windows update comes up everytime I look for an update. And since I use a mac, that update is unneeded.

Yeah, you can. Click on an update, and go to one of the menus and choose make inactive. No more bother.

Yes.
You can make them "inactive"
