How can I use my iPod as an external hard drive that would be read on MAC and Windows? (without macdrive)

If I need to bring it to random people's computers who don't have programs like Mac Drive, it would be ready to go right away.

Thanks!

the only way to do it would be to format it using windows, and then enable disk use. No windows pc can read a mac formatted iPod, but any mac can read a pc formatted iPod. You will still be able to put songs on it from your mac, but it will allow you to also put files on it from windows computers too.:apple:
