Yes, you read that correctly. I'm considering getting the following:

Mac Pro with Dual 3.0Ghz Quad core Xeons
16GB RAM
4 750GB Hard drives
Quadro FX 4500 GPU
30 in ACD
dual superdrives
bluetooth and wifi


My question is, obviously this is a monstrous and obscenely powerful system but is there any new technology coming out soon that might be even more promising?

By the way, this machine is intended as basically a 4K film editing machine and 3D animation powerhouse hence the high specs.
 
Right now is a terrible time to order a new Mac Pro. Updates are imminent. Many rumors point to as soon as next Monday (the 12th) as a probable announcement date for re-freshed Mac Pros.

As always, the MacRumors Buyer's Guide is a great start.

If you're a masochist, there's also about seventy-kajillion whingeing posts on the subject (only about half of them are mine) across a few threads:
 
The X1900 GPU will probably outperform the Quadro, unless you are running pro apps that require hardware overlay planes.
