Audio distortion in XP under Bootcamp

I have Leopard. Installed XP Home on my new 20inch iMac. Games are great! Except for this background, scratchy, grainy audio. Any thoughts on how to fix? Is it a driver issue? How (in simple terms) do I fix this. Thanks!
