Hiding bookmarks in Safari and Firefox

I am needing to know how to hide bookmarks in both safari and Firefox form a nosy relative. Also is there a way to hide files I have saved containing personal info. I would appreciate any info somene could give me.
I have a new MBP 17

Create a second account and Fast User Switch to it when you want to do something private. You could even use FileVault to encrypt your entire user area.
