The Crucial numbers on the ram for the two 17" powerbooks are different. Do they take the same kind of ram?

They both are supposed to use "PC2700 (333MHz) DDR SDRAM". So I don't know why Crucial has different numbers. Just buy the one for whatever you have.

I asked because I have a rev A 17" with 1 gig I am selling for a rev B, and I want to pull out 1 stick of 512 for my new one.

I'm just confirming that they do indeed both use the same RAM. The differing Crucial part numbers has probably got something to do with their compatibility guarantee (so they can see which system you chose in their memory selector if you end up with the wrong stuff).
