I don't get it. It's a pretty plain looking generic universal charger. What makes it so great?

it works!!

The other two I had problems with, overheating, ect...like several others have already posted, this one doesn't, and I can leave it plugged in all the time and just change the adapter to charge things other than the iPhone. And like I said, i like the looks better. It was just a personal opinion, mine!! :)
Thought I would share.

also in my opinion it doesn't look like the plain generic universal chargers....it's not all solid cheesy looking black! But again, that is my opinion. (quite frankly as far as "looks" go, and being "generic" I have never seen one like this!)

That was the first one I had! Glad it is working out for you!! :) I returned two of them. (smelled smoke and was too hot to touch ect... same as others who reviewed it had a problem with)
That's a bit alarming. I didn't see those reviews. No such experience with mine...... yet! Was your experience very recently?

best iphone car charger yet...

Personally, I don't think one is better than the other. I plug mine in and it charges... job done. I went ot best buy, paid my $20 for an iPod car charger and never had a problem.... It looks good and works, I leave it plugged in constantly so I am really curious as to what makes one better than the other!!!

Technically, I don't know if there would be any difference. Atheistically though, it does look a bit better. I'm still looking for a car mount which isn't the usual blob of black plastic - I don't have any plastic in my car, and don't intend to start now.

I don't know if this has been covered or not before but I haven't seen anything about it:
I've heard that the usb cable's end that plugs into the iphone doesnnt have the side prongs (idunno what theyre called) that lock the cable into the iphone like the cables for ipods does...is this true. If so, do the car charges for ipod's damage the iphone if you use them, because i have a car charger that works great for my ipod and anticpating my iphone that im gettin for christmas, not knowing whether i have to look into car chargers or not. Thanks for your help.

yea the iPhone charger doesn't have the latch prong things, but I've charged my iPhone with an old iPod charger that had the prongs with no problem.

I have the XtremeMac InCharge Auto Charger for iPod/iPhone, it's cool since it has the usb cable that can also be used on your computer etc...BUT...it screws up my radio stations! It lowers the signal some how to where a lot of station become static. Anyone else get this? I have a VW Jetta.

I waited for the Belkin to come out, I couldn't wait. It is great. In my car, and I imagine many others, the ash tray/lighter has a door that closes and I love that I can leave it plugged in. It looks so clean.
