Dan writes in that IE 5.1 Security Update is available in your Software Update:

This latest version - version 5.1.4 - resolves all potential security vulnerabilities in previous versions of Internet Explorer 5. This includes vulnerabilities that might have caused Internet Explorer to stop responding or caused a memory problem that compromised the security of the computer.

10.1.4?

Getafix notes: On 4-15-02 I downloaded the OS9.2.2 update - when it asked me to read the license agreement, a popup menu was on the page, containing several license agreements - one of which was for 10.1.4.

And several readers note that Photoshop 7.0 for OS X is shipping...

arn, ya had me so excited. thought that was a bit anti-climactic...

this means .4 is coming soon, tho, right? like maybe before the end of the week?

i'd love to have a nice update to play with while we wait for 10.2 🙂

got the update for IE...

now it's version 5.1.4....

hopefully it won't hang like it occasionally does...

I'd say 10.1.4 is coming soon, i.e. in a couple of weeks at the latest.

But I want to see QuickTime 6 final!!!

That's funny, 'cause I was able to update my server with BOTH the 10.1.4 and IE 5.1.4 updates this afternoon...
Probably just too many people hitting the servers at the same time...

Resolves all potential security vulnerabilities? How does it do that? by deleting IE entirely?

Sloppy$oft updates..

OK great, so today was a day of M$ updates for IE and Office.. 1000 bugs down x000 bugs to go.. At least the beachballing nonsense with multiple IE pages seems waiting to load seems to be over.

Now, someone clue me in why 10.1.4 Server was released before 10.1.4 regular? (sigh)... Come'on Apple... there's more of us than them.. and more people whining for device drivers than fixes so servers can accept anonymous spam<- a genuine innovation!

Xapplimatic-
From the documentation in the update, 10.1.4 server just added some SMTP fixes for email...that's about it...I haven't had time to investigate other changes, but I'm not sure if we can expect much from the 10.1.4 update. 🙁

Conspiracy or lameness theory..

I'm starting to think someone at Apple goofed in leaking the Server 10.1.4 update...

Why?

There aren't a lot of real improvements it seems.. Server has never been released previously before client.. None of Apples standard pages are updated to reflect 10.1.4 as the current version, they all say 10.1.3.. and finally, the Server 10.1.3 page still exists like it's the current thing.. very odd. Someone asleep at the html wheel in Cupertino?

Example:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/server/

10.1.4 was released internally to Apple employees today. They were told that it would be up on the Apple site today for everyone, but apparently that isn't the case. I'd look for the update to be in the next couple of days.

The IE Update seems to improve stability (for me newayz). It's a bit bizarre but I've been using IE for quite a few hrs now and it still hasn't crashed -- very unusual!

??

I moved my IE back in the Applications folder and the update still doesn't show up on my Software Update screen. I did, however, get 10.1.4 just fine. What gives? Did Apple pull the IE update?
