Sony 8GB Micro Vault Classic USB Flash Drive

I have been a Sony Micro Vault user for a few years now.

My most recent one is the 2 gig version.

I have read a lot of reviews complaining about the speed of these models. My 2 gig is slower then my older microvaults, but I got used to it.

Anyone have any experience with the 8 gig? I plan on getting it cause of the deal at Staples.

I got a 4GB Micro Vault a few months ago and it was really slow. It was even slower than my 512MB SanDisk Cruzer Mini, which was still pretty fast after a few years. So I returned the Micro Vault and a 4GB Cruzer Micro and I got my speed back. 🙂

I will probably do likewise if its slow, but instead ill get a turbo microvault, hehe.

Haven't tried the 8 GB, but my 1 GB (same design) is slower than molasses.

Does anyone know why these devices are so slow?

Someone made up a story about a bad batch of something but that reviewer was from a while ago.

Bought mine...not impressed with the speed but will stick with it.
