I've been backing up my hard drive with Time Machine for the past few weeks. On a couple occasions, I accidentally unplugged the power from my external drive during the backup. I've done successful backups since then.

How can I be sure that my Time Machine backup will correctly restore the entire contents of my hard drive without actually attempting to restore it? Is there any way to be sure that nothing is corrupted or should I delete my restore points and start over with Time Machine?

Go back in time and restore something... anything...

Try a junk email or some pdf that you downloaded and discarded.

It's the only good way to make sure its working.
