skinny girls?

Are skinny girls as over-rated as I think they are?

It's true - skinny legs, perfect curves, flat stomachs, nice breasts - they are attractive. Girls are dying (literally) to be thin, because society and the media has told them that it's the way they should be. I don't agree. While it is definitely important to be in shape, I don't being a stick is necessary. Everyone has their own body, but girls aren't always happy, because they think they have to be hollywood quality to be admired. Is this true?

I want to know how YOU PERSONALLY prefer your woman's body to be.

People tend to be to absolute, they are either a stick or fat. Most girls in my school that are in the middle ground are only that way because they can do nothing about it.

The thing is I feel as if people are never satisfied enough.


My preference? I am both attracted towards skinny(not stick) and normal+.

i like women who look feminine and sexy. pretty much every model on Project Runway looks like a 12 year old boy to me. i like a woman to have the right curves in the right places; not fat, not skinny. just sexy.

Guys with nice muscles and a six pack may be nice eye candy but I do not find every male who looks like that attractive.

She doesn't have to be a stick, but she has to be thin. Yes there is a difference but fat girls like to argue there isn't because they're fat. I manage to be thin, so can you. If you can't, then well, that's life. If everyone could be super models, supermodels wouldn't be super.

p.s. Oh yea and BBW does NOT exist. whoever came up with it should be shot twice.

I don't think that I have a preference, really. I had a girlfriend last year who was on the heavy-ish side, but she kept herself in good shape—jogging, sports, etc. She's even lost a bunch of weight since we were together, but she still doesn't look skinny by any stretch of the imagination. One thing that I've noticed is that some women who are in good shape just plain look a bit larger. I may be wrong, but I suspect that this is because women don't build muscle tone the same way that men do, so women who have more muscle don't really look "cut".

One thing that often gets lost on people is that the number of fat cells that you have when you're a teen is how many fat cells you'll have for the rest of your life. Now, you still have a degree of control because your eating and exercise habits will dictate how much fat is in those fat cells, but even empty fat cells take up a certain amount of space and there's no way around it. I'll probably always have a bit of a pudge because when I was in middle school I wasn't very active. Even when I lifted and ran in high school, I never did get rid of it, though I certainly did lose an inch or two around the middle. I quit worrying about it awhile ago; I do still wish that my pecs were a little bigger so that I didn't cut such an odd figure in a t-shirt—I haven't got much fat on my arms, legs, etc. but I have a fair bit around my middle, which looks kind of odd to me.

The girl I've been seeing lately is pretty thin, but certainly not overly so. She played sports in high school, walks around most places, runs and plays sports a bit, etc. She's thin in a good way. And DAMN does she have great shoulders... kind of an odd thing to fixate on, but there you have it. I have a couple of pictures of her in a dress that I mostly keep around because of the shoulders.

I agree that most people have a particular "body" that suits them best. My ex wouldn't look good at all if she were skinny, and vice-versa with the current lady. A lot of it is about learning to enjoy less calorically dense foods. I lost fifteen pounds last summer just by replacing some of my high-calorie snacks (crackers, starchy foods, etc.) with fruit. I ate the same volume and wasn't hungry, but the foods I ate had fewer calories. In general, I only treat myself to a snack of something like cheese and crackers if a) I actually AM hungry; and b) I have already had a couple of fruit and a salad or something that day.

Terms like voluptuous, zaftig and Rubenesque ring a bell?

Maybe we have diff definitions of what BBW means and the people who use it to describe themselves. Monica belucci is described by some as voluptuous. She's definitely has the curves. Kate Winslet describes herself as the same. I think she's pretty hot. Rachel Ray, also a hottie isn't a BBW by any means. Take a browse on craigs list and take a look at who describes themselves as BBW and then tell me if we are on the same page.

Speaking as a woman I'd say that it'd be nice to be in shape and if being in shape I am also skinny then sure why the hell not. Where I come from it's generally more acceptable to be skinny. I personally don't bust my ass to be that way though. And I can say with a fair level of confidence that the ratio of men who prefer a bigger woman over a smaller woman is severely disproportionate. Men and people in general see fat first. I don't blame them at all and I'm not really into male bashing. It's just a fact really. I know there are men willing to be with large women, some won't even admit it.

For me personally, the way I see it is so long as I can live with being alone then worrying about what I look like is pointless. In other words, I'm quite content with being unattractive. /shrug

I've always said I wouldn't trade in fat for bitchy. Not saying skinny girls are bitchy (that is far from the case) but let's face it, if you're hot you can get away with being a complete ****ing whore way more than any fat girl. In the words of a boy I knew in school, "I can deal with her being a needy money grubbing bitch if she just keeps that rockin' body!"

It's all very sad, but seriously, it's been going on for ages. I can't see anything really changing. Just be happy with who you are and don't kill yourself being something you're not. "He" won't love you more if you look like a cover model.

if i consider this scale: 1-skinny and 10-big, a 3 would be my type of gal.

how do i "describe" skinny? anorexic gals. big? well, i think you can imagine what i think is big.

it is just this way, i got big friends and they tend to be less healthier. prone to injuries and such. and if i could choose, i'd rather have a "skinny" gal by my side, because, i know i could do sports with her and be more active.

I'm a very unusual guy, so I'd bet my opinion isn't the majority opinion. But to me, a female's attractiveness is completely unrelated to how fat or skinny she is. There are many overweight women who I find very sexually attractive, and there are many overweight women who I find very sexually UNattractive. And vice versa, many skinny girls are attractive and many are not.

It's hard for me to even identify what my subconscious uses as criteria for a woman's attractiveness, but there's definitely something that makes me attracted to one woman and not attracted to another. I think it's based on things like the shape of the curves rather than if those curves are big or little. Or something like that.

My Carolines quite slim she's a size 8 dress (right, I know nothing about this sort of thing so I'm sorry if I say something silly ) and 7 stone. Slim but developing muscles through karate, climbing and hiking.

I don't mind any size so long as they pursued a very active lifestyle.

No, that's not true, I think you're confusing things a bit.

As I understand it, fat cells are like empty bags that get filled up with fat molecules (lipids) to store energy when you're consuming more food energy than you're metabolism is burning up. Now, when the amount of food energy trying to be saved as fat molecules exceeds the number of fat cells where they can be stored, then the body creates new fat cells to house them. The creation of new fat cells can happen at any age throughout your life (not just in your teens), but once created, fat cells will stay as part of your body for the rest of your life. When stored fat molecules are required for energy to run the body they are removed from the fat cell "bags" where they were stored, and you start to get skinnier. But those empty fat cell "bags" that have the potential to quickly and easily store excess food energy as fat will stay in your body forever. (or until you have them liposuctioned out )

There's a difference between healthy skinny and being an anorexic stick.

Don't have a physical type. Little chubby, curvy, thinish. Though I don't want them to be unhealthy fat, but also don't want them to be too brittle to touch. As long as it's not an extreme, like grossly obese or big fake breasts or size negative 2, I'm happy with pretty much anything (not that I'm desperate or anything). Besides, it's mainly all about personality.

I prefer mine rather thin, but that's because I'm a VERY skinny guy myself. At 6'0" and 130 lbs, I'd rather not have a girl bigger than I am. I eat just as much as the next guy, but I can't seem to gain weight. I should start drinking protein drinks again to see if that helps. Hmm....

Although I'm attracted to many of you, I'll tell you why I haven't dated many girls who are larger than just 'curvy.'

Sure, when girls are really hot in the classical sense, they often have the propensity to develop poor personalities such as being demanding or bitchy, because they grew up expecting to get good treatment regardless of how they act. HOWEVER, fat girls have a strong propensity to develop personality traits that are equally unattractive, just in a different way. Many big girls have such major body issues within their own mind that it causes male suitors to be really put off. For instance, I'll list a few of the big personality problems large girls usually have that are unattractive.

Many big girls believe so strongly that no guy could find them attractive that it leads the girls to go REALLY slow on the physical front because she's ashamed of her bodies. Listen up girls, we've seen big girl porn, we have a pretty reasonable idea of what you look like naked. It's no secret that big girls have rolls of fat and even some stretch marks. Us guys know what we're attracted to, and if we're flirting with you then that means by default that we are already attracted to your body - so just accept it as fact and act that way. So often when I've been flirting with big girls they act all shy and make you put in a tremendous amount of work to make them feel comfortable and reassure them that you really do find them attractive, etc. That's a huge needy-girl pain in the butt! If I make flirty jokes with you and stare at you, just enjoy it and play along! And when I go to take off your shirt in a reasonable time frame, don't stop me and say "not yet."

Screw that! There are plenty of attractive girls around, and if you're gonna need constant reassurance and make me wait an extra long time to get some action from you, then I'm just gonna forget about you and move on to another girl who won't give me such a hard time.

And then if I do finally get her naked and we're fooling around and I have an erection, often times the big girl is STILL worried that she's not attractive and so will act all inhibited and worry about the lighting being right and worrying about being in certain positions because she thinks she'll look gross, or that she'll hurt me when we're getting busy. Bleah, nothing is more unattractive than a girl constantly needing reassurance and not getting loose, wild, uninhibited, and in the moment - which is what sex is all about!

Anyway, I could go on, but this is already a huge thread, so I'll just summarize my message here.

Listen up big girls, the reason why many of you find yourselves without a man in your life isn't because of how all men view your body, it's because of how YOU act because of how YOU think about your body. If you improve the way you regard your body it'll change your attitude and make you much more attractive to many men. And if you can't manage to change the way you think about your body for now, then just fake it to begin with. Use your imagination and act the way you think a woman who believes she has an attractive body would act. Even if you don't believe it inside yourself to begin with, if you change your attitude then soon you'll have much more success with men, and once you have enough success with them you'll start to believe that you really are attractive, and then your new good attitude will become permanent! This is a well known self behavior modification technique, otherwise known as "fake it till ya make it."
