Holding down 'alt' only gives me Mac OSX

Hi there, I've had a search and couldn't find a solution, so here goes:

I just re-partitioned and re-installed XP as I wanted the partition to be bigger, no problem there. Installed windows and boot camp drivers etc etc without a hitch.

Problem is, on startup, holding down the alt key does bring up a selection, but my only option is 'Macintosh HD', there is no Windows on there. However, from within osx, I can choose to boot to windows from startup disk and windows boots up fine.

What gives?

Forgot to mention, I formatted my drive as fat so I can copy files to and from the partition in osx. Is this why?
