How to make 'Pages' page count the same as MS 'Word'

Hi all, I'm currently a student and a lot of my work is set to page counts, (not word counts), however, I only have 'Pages' on my computer and the lecturer is referring to 'Word' which I thought was fine until last week when I wrote my 5 page essay on my mac and then emailed to it to my friend's PC to print but it was 6 pages on word, so I had to conduct a massive last minute cut down 😱 (it was using exactly the same font, font size, margins etc). I was wondering if there was any way in Pages that I could change the page layout to a Word one so that I don't have to guess what is about 3 pages on Word, writing the essays are hard enough without having no idea of how many pages it is without continually transferring it to my friend's PC!! (also have thought of buying office for macs but its not really an option as its so expensive!) any help offered will be much appreciated as I am beginning to write another 3 page essay today..!
