G5 buy now or what?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying the new G5.
But what do I do? It's not even in the showroom and in January (3 months) presumably the next generation of G5s will be announced.

i bet, they won't come in january! go for the g5 now if you need the machine and if you have the money!

then again, SJ said the G5 will be up to 3 Ghz within a year..

and then he said in paris by the end of summer 04 - probably available in one year ... i am a little pessimistic, but i think we'll ge ev.b g5 in march ... i just don't hope it will be that late

depends on which one you want... you can go into a store and pick up a 1.8 or 1.6 today. if you want the duals, well, heh, you'd be better off waiting. they're starting to ship now, but i wouldn't bet on a new order shipping in the next 3 weeks...
