This really is mind-blowing, and it should be a wake-up call to the television and cable industries, juggernauts that are still clinging to the old analog days. Why is it that with 200-odd channels over a digital television line, I can't pick just the channels I want to watch? I have to take the bundle that the cable company forces on me, and at the prices they set.
So now I have an iPod Touch and I can watch whatever I want when I want it (when in WiFi range), with millions upon millions of pieces of content to choose from, whether the content is YouTube videos, CNN newscasts, online games or just browsing websites. That's plenty of entertainment at my fingertips on a gorgeous hi-resolution screen. Who needs TV?
Apple really has spearheaded a complete revolution not only in communication technology but in entertainment as well. Time will tell whether the "old technology" companies can steer their lumbering ships fast enough to keep up.
