Importing Into Mac Mail From Outlook2Mac

Outlook2Mac Confusion

JUST setting up my brand new Mac after 20 years of PC hell. Anyway - I used Outlook2Mac to successfully()?) import all 3000 odd email messages over to the new machine. I imported the mbox mailbox files ... all worked!.Hurrah!.

Oh no. Although I can now send and receive...my Inbox.Sent,Outbox etc all function fine .. I cannot see the old mail. Well I sort of can.

If I look down the Mailboxes column I see.
Inbox
Drafts
Sent
Trash

All ok so far

But below this its
ON MY MAC (3227)
RSS (19)

Both of these folders are greyed out. Yet it seems to know theres 3000 messages somewhere!
How DO I get to them?
Some reference is made to the Mail Import Mailbox .. but cannot find it.

Can anyone help a newbie-thickie with a simple step by step guide to getting this accursed sticking point done? And I will be most happy.

I even got my Canon scanner software sorted (you needed Stuffit) and the Epson printer up and running ... so there is hope for me yet!
