Decided to create one thread that 'may' hopefully be made into a sticky for easy reference on the 2008 Hotlist of announced titles.

Don't spam in this thread please. Lets keep it simple, clean and less cluttered. Discussions over a forthcoming game can be started in their own threads.

Titles I may have not included yet or corrections - please PM me the details, rather than fill up the thread needlessly. Thank you for you assistance.

Oooh, I posted a reply but got scared after reading MRU's rules about discussion and deleted it. Mario Kart's my number one on that list. I'll probably get GTIV as well - pretty much the only PS3 game that appeals to me so far. :(

Edit: Sorry MRU, no more waffling. Thanks for a useful and hard thought through thread though. :)

Lads try not filling up the thread with junk. I have provided release dates as acurately as I can going on the information from websites like IGN, gamespot etc. We all know release dates can move, but it took a lot of work going to the effort of providing you with this information. If your just going to fill up the thread with garbage like this, please DO NOT BOTHER! :rolleyes::mad:

There's a large amount of games here just aren't going to make it in 2008. Plus most of these are ones you're looking forward to...hardly a comprehensive list. A lot of these release dates are out -of-date.

Speaking of garbage, most of that Wii list is...
 
^^ I never said it was comprehensive, I referred to it as the Hotlist - the bigger named titles.

And if truth be known the majority of titles on it, do NOT appeal to me personally.

If you have ones you wish to add, please be more productive and PM me them rather than just being totally anal and messing up the thread.

Release dates all move. These release dates are all from the weekly IGN release date update list. I don't know how more up to date I can try and be, but hey if you want to go the time and effort in order to provide a source of information for the community, please feel free.

Seriously I don't know why I bother, if this is the level of thanks you get for your time and effort. :mad:

LOL!! Now that would be interesting. Though I assume it's a trademark thing, ie. they can not trademark Africa (the name) and so change the English to Afrika™ and therefore they can still use that name in Germany I would assume. :)

hm perhaps .. but i think there are already some PC games on the market who are named close so i wonder how they will call it around here ("Wild Earth: Africa")
and i seriously doubt they can trademark "Afrika" around here

There's no need to roll the eyes. You could have simply PM'd me and let me know the titles to add, like others who have contributed have done so.

^ it might help if it was a little more formal, rather than sticking the Wii at the end in some kind of naughty corner and removing opinions of the games names. Other folk might take it more seriously then?

But playing with wii is naughty ;) and a little kinky to some :D

I'll work on a standardised graphical look to the list, and then add PSP & DS also over the crimbo holidays.

No announcement as yet. Pikmin was one of my favourite IP's but that doesnt necessarily mean it will come to Wii. Remember Pilotwings (another classic favorite) never came to gamecube either...
 
^I never cared much for Pilotwings, but that's neither here nor there. Without doing any numbers research, I fear Pikmin did not sell enough copies to get Nintendo developers to get it on the Wii.

I love the Mario Kart and Gran Tourismo franchises, but at the end of the day I am just racing a very nice looking (or cartoony looking) car. Super excited to see those games, but truly unique games like Ico, Pikmin, and Okami are what really float my boat. I hope the Wii Okami has some new stuff.

Yeah that's my taste down to the tee too.


I think Pikmin sold very well, hence Pikmin 2. It may just end up being a late arrival in the wii lifespan, so don't write it off just yet :)
 
GT Modile is still happening, but they suspended work to focus on GT5, they were probably also waiting on the clock speed of the PSP to be unlocked(now it has)
 
Sadness is coming out in March? Is that an estimate or was something announced? I remember being excited about it during Revolution times.

Other than that I'm mainly looking forward to MarioKart and SmashBros.
