I saw the website for that substitute for Microsoft Word. I decided to buy it but now I forgot what it was called. Does anyone remember the name?
 
there are a lot of substitutes for microsoft word. be specific.

lets see...if you get x11 working, you can run OpenOffice for FREE!
 
I'm reffering to that major one that has advertising in all the Mac magazines and on all the Mac sites. The one that has a substitute for each of the programs and is compatible with Microsoft Word.
 
Well you could always download the 30-day trial then delete the .plist when it expires 😀

No idea whether that would actually work, and I can't really say that it's "non-pirated"!

That's the difference between Mac and Windows. On the Mac, you download a 30-day trial and it expires after 30 days. On Windows, you download the 30-day trial, and Windows has crashed and burned before the 30 days are up, so you reformat and get another 30 😉
 
well i dont know, but textedit in panther looks pretty sharp for you basic allignment and typing. and now you can open and save as word files. just the little things apple thinks of.

I never said that ThinkFree was free. I think I'm willing to pay. And the compatibility is really important to me. Yes AppleWorks has the option to save in Word, but than it takes a lot longer to open a document and I haven't always got it to work. And I don't think that I could do with TextEdit.
