Hi everyone!

I tend to use alot of my F-keys in Windows through bootcamp, but certain F-keys with secondary functions on the mac keyboard such as changing the brightness or volume up and down (as an example), keep functioning when I press them.

I did shut off the secondary F-key functions in the Mac system preferences, hoping it would stay inactive when I'm in Windows. Unfortunately they still turn my brightness up and down when, let's say, I hit the F1 or F2 keys in Windows.

Does anybody know any way to shut this off in Windows? Does it have to do with any drivers installed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you using Boot Camp? There's an equivalent option in the Boot Camp control panel for using the function keys for software features. Enable this in Windows, and you'll be all set.

Thank you for the feedback!
Yes, I am using Bootcamp. Just a quick question.. where is the bootcamp control panel?

To bring it up, just right-click on the Boot Camp icon in your Windows System Tray and choose the appropriate option, or go into Windows Control Panel and open it that way.

Im typing this message from windows on my MBP right now.

Anyone know why è is coming up when i press certain keys

Question mark doesnt work, quotes dont work, bracketing doesnt work... Gah! there are many more!

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I'm so lost and can't fond the answer anywhere. Every time I try to boot up the boot camp control panel I receive this error:

"An error occurred while trying to access the startup disk settings.

You may not have privileges to change the startup disk. Make sure you have administrative privileges and try again."

Anyone have any experience with this problem. I cannot find an answer on google, the problem has been going around but no one there has seemed to find a solution.

All I want to be able to do is edit the F keys, is there another alternative walk around for this?
