What are your thoughts on cybering? (A.K.A. The very awkward thread)

Well I just had a very interesting experience. I don't know if anyone here has cybered before, but my girlfriend talked me into doing it and I said "What the hell, sometimes you gotta' try new things".

Well, as you may or may not know, it's pretty freaky. I was actually giggling to myself during the first few minutes, but after a while I started to get into it. Not as good as real sex I can imagine, but hey, a guy gets what he can.

For everyones sanity I won't go into a detailed account, but I just wanted to know what everyones thoughts on cybering are. Have you done it? Do you like it? Is it just stupid?

PS: Please keep it as clean as possible.

now this has to be one of the more interesting threads i've seen in some time.

I don't know how to answer it, but i guess if it's ok between you and her, then it's good to go.

the only thing I would watch is that neither on of you are recording the session b/c if you ever broke up, i could foresee, in the hands of the wrong person, such videos getting out there....

Frankly, I find it to be a little bit pathetic. Something that the young engage in because of proximity limitations.

I don't think it's pathetic - considering it's more action than I'm getting lately.

But I do agree that it seems to be more a younger demographic - due to, well the obvious reasons. (lack of transport, places to do it, raging teenage hormones ect...)

That said - I was talking on the phone to an ex girlfriend late at night - we had not seen each other for about 3 weeks. After a conversation about fun things we did - it somehow shifted towards sex... I heard some suspicious noises on her end, and found out my dirty mind was right for once.

What to do with a raging, well, "thing"? For a second, I thought of joining in - then I realized I could just drive there.

To this day, I still cannot figure out how I managed to cover 95 miles in only 1 hour...

I have done it a few times in the past when I was more naive. I found that it wasn't too horrible when you had someone who was good with details. I haven't in some time and at this stage in my life I would certainly opt for the real thing over cybersex. Again I suspect Phone sex is about the same but actually could be better but I have never tried it and may never.

The interesting thing is, in the OPs case this was his girlfriend, has to make things different in the end. For me it was just horny chicks who were up late chatting and then all of sudden it turns into a cyber session.

Well, at least talking on the phone is a little more personal.

"Cybering" is more like an interactive romance novel (sans bare chested Fabio) degenerated to it's lowest common denominator. Less "turgid member" and more "my c**k".

It's so impersonal.

Plus there's always the chance you'll end up on TV as a predator. :eeks:

I remember doing it a few times back in the early 90's AOL days. Really it was usually the guys who would initiate it and before I knew it I was playing right into their game and cybering back. Most of the time it was boring or silly. Sometimes it was fun in a control sorta way.

I'm not so sure what's so freaky about it really?

I think it's a bit beyond what I'm willing to do on the internet. Even when we had the frustration of distance (read: different countries) between, it never happened. Dodgy photos? sure. Quick flashes to the webcam? yup. ...but genuine "cybering" (never heard that expression before either) NO.

To each their own but we just sorted out our lives and then never had to deal with that long-distance BS.

I don't really get it to be honest. I'd much prefer to meet girls and see how things go that way. I know 'cybering' is just a bit of fun, but I've never understood the whole internet relationship/friendship thing.

Like people that just have millions of friends on MySpace/Facebook that they don't know in real life...what's the point?
