Is it safe to keep the iPhone in its dock all day and night?

I generally keep it in its docking/power/syncing station (the one that comes with it) all day at work next to my computer and all night in another dock next to my bed when I go to sleep.

The question is, I remember buying all my old phones and the guys would always say dont charge it unnecessarily or it will shorten the battery life much quicker slash lower its maximum charge over time.

Same ring true for the iPhone?? Or you think im safe?

My experience with AT&T...

has caused me to shut my phone off, then turn it back on, every so often. Especially when I make changes to my plan or anyone else on my plan makes changes. Such as adding the Family Unlimited Text Msg Plan, requires everyone on the plan to turn their phones off, then turn them back on, in order that the new change can update on the individual phones. But, besides that issue, I continue to keep my iPhone in the charging dock while at home, and in the charging dock when on the road with my computer.

Now we have trickle chargers, which don't have these issues.

Stop punishing me, please?

I got mine today. And I plan on using all day and leaving in the charger overnight. Is this a good strategy?

www.batteryuniversity.com

check that site.

read up on li-ion batteries.

i would suggest NOT to leave it charging all day/ all night. its like the battery will never be able to "breathe", it essentially wont be used, if its always getting a charge.
