3G Ipod doc/firewirecharger compatible with iPhone?

I have a 3G Doc with a firewire cable hooked up to a ipod powerbrick and the dock.

Can I use it to charge my iphone?
 
i use my firewire power adapter with a universal dock to charge & sync my iphone and have never had any problems with it...
