Free DVD-to-MP4 converter

hey everyone.

this is my my first posting, and i was wondering if there is a free DVD-to-MP4 convertor cos i'm getting a iPod Classic for xmas.

It has an iPod setting.

yeah... it will give you a preset for it.

Is there any way to do the opposite? Is there free software to convert my mp4 files to DVD viewable and then burn them onto DVD-RW?

"Ripping" a DVD or CD does not erase data from the disc. Instead, it reads the disc and creates a copy. You'll still be able to use the DVD in a standard player.

EDIT: More precisely, Handbrake reads the disc data and creates a single movie file, stripped of all the navigation menus. This file can then be loaded onto iPods, iPhones and other devices for playback.

I use Handbrake to convert my movies for use on my iphone. Took me ages to find something that worked which was also easy to use. But now it's a breeze with this FREE prog. Hope you have success with it on your iPod classic, i have no idea if it's compatible.
Besides i share you a article about how to convert DVD to iPod MP4 on PC, which can help you rip dvd to mp4 format on Windows.
Hopefully this works for all of you like it just worked for me!
