hello all,

this is probably a really silly question, but i spend a lot of time sshing in and out of various linux boxen doing mundane little tasks that involve heavy use of the text editor vi. in order to add any text to a file i need to use the 'insert' key and try as i might i can't find it anywhere on my 12" powerbook's (comonly referred to as 'my baby' or 'my precious') keyboard.

is there something i'm missing?

mb.

I think, there's no insert key, but you don't need it for vi as far as I know. Just use esc and then i for insert or a for append.
