got an old imac that wont boot up

I'm completely new to macs, been a pc user my whole life. However today I was offered an old imac for free the only thing wrong with it is that it wont boot up. When I turn it on all i get is what the attached photos show and it doesn't do anything else. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It can't find a bootable OS. Do you have any OS install discs?

ill ask the person who gave it to me, is it just a re-install?

Yeah, it just needs an operating system to be installed. Hopefully... 😛

just in case I can't get the cd's, is there any other way to get the os?
