From Apple's web page:
[2]Does the MacBook also have this function, or is Safe Sleep Mode only a PPC thing?
[3]Is there a way to force my Macbook or iMac to shut down or sleep into Safe Sleep Mode, so that I could safely suspend my session without the risk of losing it to a power failure if I were going to be away for a while?
thanks!
Mark
[1]Is this "safe sleep mode" akin to Windows "Hibernate"?Tip: When the battery reaches "empty", the computer is forced into sleep mode. . .Once the battery is truly exhausted, the computer is forced to shut down. At this point, with the safe sleep function introduced in the PowerBook G4. . .the computer's memory contents have been saved to the hard drive. When power is restored, the computer returns itself to its pre-sleep state using the safe sleep image on the hard drive.
