First ever version of OS X you used on a mac, I think we'll say long term as we know that many people skipped 10.0 and waited for the free 10.1 upgrade.
I had to stick with 9.2.2 until Jaguar when Apple introduced core audio. Then it was still hard to solely use Jaguar. I guess I finally went over to OS X completely close to the Panther release.
I remember when 10.2 was released and I was amazed at the wallpaper of all things of it. 10.2 was MAJOR when compared to 10.1 which I was using previously.
I was one of the crazy one (I had been reading about Copland for some time by then) that installed the beta version of OS X. I can still remember what a shock it was when I booted up the first time!
I immediately upgraded to 10.0.3 from the drop-in disc that came with my 500 MHz G3 iBook (9.2 pre-installed). I used 10.0.x for about a week but it was too slow. Booted from OS 9 until 10.2 came out.
look at the distribution weird 😕 most people have tried cheetah first then it dies down and peaks again at tiger. i wonder how leopard will turn out if people keep on voting?
i first "used" Mac OS 9 on my cousin's old powerbook and then jaguar on my auntie's ibook a bit later on. the first Mac OS X version that i used and owned was tiger. im now using leopard.
