Had to reinstall Leopard but now I have two copies on my Mac...help!

So today I was doing a software update (on various software through the Updater)...then I restarted and it took me to some System Register thing, asking for my address and phone number and what language I preferred and whatnot.

So after answering questions, I hit OK and then it takes me right back to the beginning. After trying to get past this for a half an hour I simply inserted my Leopard disc for a reinstall. It allowed me to install another copy of Leopard and transfer all my settings over to the new copy, however I still have an old copy left.

How can I get rid of the old copy???
 
If you mean that you have a Previous Systems folder, then you can get rid of it if you don't need anything out of it.
 
Yes that is what I mean, do you know where I could find this "Systems Folder" though?

My Macbook is currently re-indexing itself...
 
Press command shift c then double click on your hard drive. There should be a folder called Previous system.
 
Ok

I have a folder marked "Previous Systems" but that is dated 1-1-08

Then I have the SYSTEM folder with the X on it...double clicking into that brings me in Library.

Should I still drag Previous Systems to the trash?

Yes.

You did what's called an archive and install. The Previous System folder is, well, just that.

Toss it in the trash if all is well.
 
Yeah, Previous System goes in the trash (I'd look through it to see if any user data that you need is in there though).
