Brand new iMac has 2 stuck pixels...

As the title says, i'm pretty pissed.

I'm just wondering if there's anything i can do as the store wants at least 4 for a replacement. I've been on to Jscreenfix and ran that for 20-minutes but to no avail, is there anything else i can try?

Call Apple to ask for a replacement!!!

I got an new 20" iMac, and found 1 stuck pixel (green light). After calling Apple, the agreed to change another one. After waiting for three weeks, the new one came in perfect conditions.

Call Apple and remember the service people's name, then go to store to ask for return!!!

Do it now. you should do it in 7 days!

goo luck!

Try 20 minutes times 72. Then gives us another shout.

If it's a new iMac then return it saying that you want a refund. Don't Apple have a cool off period to allow just that?

I bet they give an exchange then.

I have 7 stuck pixels when I bought my IMac a year ago. But never thought of replacing it.

Is it possible for me to call up the guys behind the genius bar to fix/replace it now?

I did purchase Applecare Plan with my IMac, so I'm still under warranty.

What do you guys think? Give it a go?

7 should get you a replacement panel.

Thing is I bought it a year ago.

Would that matter?

I am still under the APP though.

Nope. Applecare will cover you for two more years. The only thing I could see not helping you is if the stipulation on dead/stuck pixels requires them to be in a cluster rather than sporadically around the screen.

Yes I am worried they might say that too.

However under Clause 1a(iii) of the APP, it states that

"Under APP for Apple Display, Apple will, at its option, repair or replace the affected Covered Equipment, if during the Repair Coverage Period there is a defect in the Covered Equipment's materials or workmanship"

I guess stuck pixels should fall under the defect in "display materials/workmanship" category. So if they quote replacement under cluster, then I'll quote the abovementioned clause to them, because the Clause does state a warranty on material/workmanship and never specific the extend of defect required.

I'll give the apple guys a call tomorrow and see. I'll update once I get anymore info.
