My exisiting laser printer (Brother HL-1050) does not have any OSX drivers. (Have checked Brother site)..

1) Is it possible to install it in OS9 then print to iit from OSX to OS9?

2) Windoze lets you add a printer even if doesn't exist on your system. OSX seems to only allow you to install drivers for attached printers it can find and identify. Is there any way to get around this? (CUPS doesn't either). Then I could install a generic driver (eg HP4) which would probably work.

um... how do i add the printer in os9??

I'm a recent switcher hence the question.

I tried Desktop Printer Utility but couldn't figure out what to do next and it didn't show up or anything, and only Laserwriters were in the list above it. My printer was connected at the time.

Does anyone know if there's any other "secret" clicks (like the option-click on Add Printer) I should know about in OSX?
