I thought this might be a curious thread. I know not everyone will want to give out their name, so you don't have to; but use Google and search for your name (with or without "quotes"), and see what comes up. You can also search with different modifiers (say, a city) just for fun.

Now post here whether you can actually find yourself (you don't have to say your name), or if you keep finding other people with the same name; and if it's the latter, post what Google says you are!

In my case, Google say I am:

A senior Java programmer in Alabama.
An internet marketer in Georgia.
A math teacher with a PhD.

Ironically, I know Java programming, I do a level of internet marketing with my web site, and have a very strong math background (took Calculus at 15), but none of these are me. I am saddened that Google does not consider me worthy.

Anyone else have anything interesting?

According to the top hit I'm a lawyer apparently.

The 5th and 7th (or 5th and 8th without quotes) links are the real me.

A photographer (with seemingly dreadful web-design skills)
A member of the Association of Cancer Physicians

On Google... I'm me. 😱

The search only comes back with two links, one of them my Facebook page. My surname isn't very common, so there's not much chance of a load of pages referencing lots of different people.

And I am:
A famous actor,
A SQL developer - this one is me,
An Orthopedic surgeon.

I used to be a SQL developer and that puts me on page one of Google when searching for my name.

I believe this is called ego-surfing.

Cheers.

Governor for North Carliona
State Senator representing Worcester and Norfolk

Vote for me 🙂

Writer/Illustrator for weird kinky comic "Boneyard"

Latin dance champion. Pairs division.

A fictional character in a high school reunion short story with an eerie resemblance to me.

Butt load of photo.net posts I did in the late 90's. Funny reading them, digital photography didn't even exist back then.

I'm running some nature shop (with real dreadful web-design skills)
A photographer (with seemingly dreadful web-design skills) <---- that's me
A dutch doctor in mathematics

I don't even have to do the search to know that google would come up with me - I'm the only person with my name (uncommon surname). I've done it before and the top hits are always back to me.

Of the 10 on the first page, 5 are me. I am:

Retired airline pilot who restored a couple planes
Womens rowing coach
Computer technician <- thats me
A dead guy from the late 1800s
Someone from Manchester
President of a charity

I think I would rather be the first one, if I could pick.

I'm an estate agent,
I'm me 😀,
I'm a screensaver maker person,
I'm an experimental musician.

Hah. That's me all over. I've got bits of land, I make software and I'm a make music for said software!

A "founder of a company called Network Physics, a company that sells network management software."

Ah, to be unique!

I can't even find myself :'(

I managed to find a single entry using my full name (first middle last) in some article from my high school many years ago. That's it.
