iPod Battery help

hey i was useing my iPod then it just turned off and i tried to turn it on but all it does is show a picture of the battery with a triangle caution sign over it please help it is a 10G iPod 1st gen thanx
 
I suppose this is an obvious question, but:

Have you tried plugging it in to a power source (Mac or power adapter)?

It means the battery has run out. Recharge it.
