Hi

i have installed leopard and the user in the permissions is called unknown this is every single folder on an other internal drive, with it being like this i cant delete any of the folders or files thats on the drive.

Is there a quick way to set permissions so i can delete these folders or do i have to go through them all one by one via "get info" and change them manually myself?

Regards

You should be able to do a get info on the external and tell it to "ignore permissions on this volume," which should give you full access to everything.

You can also do a get info on all the stuff at the top level, set the user to yourself and permissions to what you want (you'll probably be asked to authenticate with an admin password), then apply those permissions to everything below that level.

Or use terminal's chown/chmod commands, but probably better to avoid those if you're not comfortable with the terminal.
