All of you touch-heads should add this source to your Installer.app and install WifiToggle! It's VERY simple... actually... maybe TOO simple. The ONLY thing this does is turn Wifi on, or turn Wifi off but, it's not like the other toggle apps, where you have to tap to launch it, then tap to toggle it, then tap home to go back to the home screen... you only tap ONCE. The App launches, tells you that it's turning on Wifi and then quits for you... all in one tap. Then to turn Wifi off again, repeat the process... It's the one App I was asking for in an iPhone IRC chatroom and someone took the time and made it for me.

Anyways, here's the source for WifiToggle: http://iphone.latte.ca

Then refresh the sources and look in the Utilities section for WifiToggle.

Thanks for reading my post.

Hmmmm. All I see on your site is Blah Blah Blah.

You're not supposed to click on that link. I said in my original post to add that "source" to your installer.app sources. Tap Installer.app, tap Sources and then tap Edit and then tap Add. Then type in that URL in the box that pops up and you'll be good to go. By the way, it's not my site... it's Blake's site.

Great idea bc im constantly toggling on and off at work to save batter life! Ill give it a try, thanks.

Its stuck on downloading with no progress made.

Fixed the problem. Ugly but effective!

Yeah, it doesn't have the fanciest look while it's running but, the icon is nice and it works very well. I'm not the one who developed it but, if I did, I would make the loading screen look a little more pleasing to the eye.

Your magic worked once, maybe you can get the screen to be a bit more of eye candy ;)

I was thinking maybe a blue dialog that pops up and says "Turning Wifi on..." that auto-disappears when it's done... those little pop up dialogs are neat looking.

i agree 100%, im sure that wouldnt be too tough for a programmer.

I wonder if they can program apps to launch code without actually launching an App first... It would be even cooler to just see that dialog just pop up over the SpringBoard icons notifying you the status of your wifi toggling.

Amazing app. I've wanted this for a while. Thanks.

Yeah, you're welcome... I've also been wanting this for a while... I guess I just got extremely lucky by mentioning it in an iPhone IRC chatroom.... hehe... cool! I see you like The Office too... nice. I wish there were new shows though... the writers strike SUCKS!

thanks spaz! I have been wanting this since day one. So much faster than settings and / or services app

Fantastic! And I don't even mind the interface -- it's quick and does what it needs to do. (Not that I will object if you decide to make it more eye-candyish!)

I will be editing my Summerboard preference file to put WiFiToggle in my static dock (rather than on just one of the springboards).

Thanks for this!

Update: Apparently the original developer (Blake) was informed that someone else wrote a very similar app... so what they did was they teamed up and merged the two apps together to make it better and they even released the source code!

Check it out everyone! It's even better now because instead of just a white screen, it's a black screen and a blue pop-up dialog says "Turning Wifi ON" or "Turning Wifi OFF". NICE! That's exactly what I wanted all along! I'm so excited now. Everyone should go on over to that site and download themselves a copy of it.

Im having trouble installing the app. I placed the folder in the Applications through SSH and its not showing up.

I did restart. I think the problem is arising with the download. Safari says "failed to decompress" to the zip file after download. I can still see the contents of the zip and add it to my touch via SSH but maybe its incomplete?

More people I know have problems downloading with Safari. Download it using Firefox.

That was my next idea. Ill have to wait until I get home (no wifi at the client im at)

Hey, you're not supposed to add the entire folder that the zip made... just the WifiOnOff app. Those other documents are the source code and you don't need those. Just drag WifiOnOff to your Applications folder and it will run fine. I got a decompression error as well and it still worked perfectly after manually decompressing it from the Finder.
