How to stop iPhoto from popping up whenever I plug in my iPhone?

When you plug in your iPhone, go to Applications/Image Capture and then Preferences from the Menu Bar. In preferences it will say "When a camera is connected, open:" and then choose "No application" on the pull down menu.

Of course you can also change that setting in iPhoto preferences.
