hey, can anyone suggest a good free system cleaning program for leopard? i have tried 'onxy' and 'Maintenance' but they don't seem to work or open properly.
cheers

Don't. Unless you are having problems, there is no "cleaning" that a software program can do that doesn't require you to be smarter than it is. In other words, none of those cleaning programs know what to do. They all need you to make the final decision about what to actually delete. And all of those cache files are made by your Mac for a reason, they let the Mac run faster.
Now, that is not to say that cache files don't get corrupted, they do. Then they need to be hosed down and thrown out. But your Mac will actually run slower as it builds new ones if you throw out the old ones.
