I have a HP Photosmart C4280 All-In-One printer that was purchased with my MacBook. I can print from my computer fine with it, but when i click scan, it will say USB Not Connected...I am not an idiot, everything is securely fastened. I went into SYstem Preferences and deleted it from the "printers" menu then added it again, and nothing changed. Anyone else having this problem or heard of what to do? Thanks!

The driver included in OS X is a print only driver. Have you installed the rest of the drivers?

well, i was told that i didn't need to install anything, that it was plug and play...but i guess not. And i dont think i will be able to find the disk that came with the printer, are there any other ways of obtaining those drivers as a downloadable version or something?
