You should've sprung for faster shipping... I'm supposed to have mine on the 11th.

Cool

1.8 C2D, Standard HD

Ships by: 7 Feb
Delivers by: 19 Feb

Which sucks because you guys are going to get it 8 days earlier than me! Damn Canadian store. And I didnt want to pay 25$ for express shipping. haha but i think it will be hear earlier than expected. cause it can't take THAT long to ship. and i live in the metro....mmm one can only hope.

do you guys think it will actually start shipping on the 6th or do you think it will be earlier. cause didn't steve say it would be out in TWO weeks?

Also bought in this order:
AppleCare
Time Capsule
Canon iP4500 (for the printer deal)

May buy the SuperDrive addition if i decide ir eally need it but right now i feel as though i dont.

Mine supposed to get here by the 12th. Unlike most people heres I chose the 1.6 Ghz CPU as opposed to the 1.8 GHz. I will use my macbook air mostly for web surfing and school stuff. The extra 200 MHz isn't going to make THAT much of a difference, but the extra $300 premium will.

ME TOO! True Story.

Also, I, along with CyberGypsy and others, are set to get our MBA's before 10:30AM monday 2/4. I would venture to say you can't wait that long; neither can I. So, hopefully this will save many people some time.

Noting that my Macbook Air arrived at my local Waco Tx sort facility at the wee hours of the morning, I thought I would pay them a visit after my copyright law exam; after that test, I thought I could make anything happen.

Though, when I arrived, the person initially seemed excited to help brighten my day, that is until she saw who the package was coming from, Apple. At least at the Waco Fedex, they say that anytime Apple releases something new, they get a deluge of angry and impatient customers coming to FedEx to get their package. Knowing this, I thought I would try to charm her into seeking out my package (literally within 500 feet of me), buying her 1/2 dozen white roses.

The funny part was that she was seemed eager to help until she saw that the tracking number says "Package not due for delivery" next to the most recent entry, which seems to mean there is NO way you are getting your MacBook Air before monday, notwithstanding the fact that it may be sitting, moderately accessible by a friendly customer service agent.

Save yourself the miles and the cost of the flowers (or bribe for that matter). Hopefully you won't feel the urge to just go there and try, because it most likely won't work.

Ordered mine today. Couldn't resist. Due to ship 2/8. My birthday is 2/15. Nice gift from my wife. My only concern was the 4200 spin drive. Hope it doesn't slow the puter down. Excited and waiting.

What do you guys think, would an Apple Service put an SSD drive into an Air, if anybody bought one and took it with them to a Store? What's your opinion?

I ordered mine on Amazon with Amazon Prime. It shows in my orders:

Delivery estimate: March 19, 2008

Is that what everyone has?

Mine ships on February 12th, arrive Feb 18th.

I bought the 1.8 SSD model.

It was $3,200 for a secondary laptop. I am nervous about this purchase because I am not sure the trade-offs--notably the lack of replaceable battery--will make the size worth it.

But I fly to Asia monthly, so hopefully not having to lug a 17" will be worth it. Fingers crossed.

Either way, I am excited to try it out...

Well my wife is really good to me as she knows I am a Mac ADDICT. I have absolutely no real use for a MacBook Air as I have a wonderful MacBook Pro. But she knows how I pine for the latest just to play and enjoy. No other vices and I'm retired so she indulges me. She saw the look on my face when the macBook Air came out so she said we'll do it for your birthday. Only problem was I couldn' t get her to bite on the idea of the SSD

2 pairs of Jimmy Choo, if she got a good sale and an employee discount (next to impossible).

Cool ship date and details

I ordered mine day of announcement, ship date 2/6, arrive before 2/12.

My rig 1.8/80/super drive/3 yr warranty.

My concern: This is my first Mac, and with any notebook (little to no upgrade path), I worry that I am trading power (rumored new Penryn Pro's) versus sex appeal.

I will only be doing some photo manipulation, word processing, and lots of surfing.

Any thoughts?
