Recently, on certain sites, Safari has started acting strangely.

Basically, after a page loads (like this page, just now, coincidentally), some of the content is missing/blank. If I click off Safari onto another app/desktop, the full content comes back, and I can then use the site as normal. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it.

10.5.1, 3.0.4

Has anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like a font problem. Try downloading Linotype Font Explorer and deactivating everything except the system fonts. You can also reset font and application caches with this program, but you won't lose your internet settings and bookmarks.

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

It's strange how it's only recently started happening though. It doesn't seem font-related really, it's boxes/graphics etc. that are mainly missing sometimes. It's like when I'm using a really old version of Quark Xpress or something, and weird things happen like windows leaving a mark on the screen when they're closed, but I put that down to the old version with Leopard.

But I wouldn't have expected Safari to do similar things...
