New iPod Game: Block Breaker Deluxe

Apple has released a new iPod game, Block Breaker Deluxe, by Gameloft S.A.

Block Breaker Deluxe is a classic, arcade brick-breaker game reinvented with hot graphics. Play the game and interact with cool characters in their jet-set nightlife settings: bar, dance club, beach, restaurant, casino, and more!

The game is available for all iPods that are compatible with iPod games, including the 5th generation iPod, 3rd generation iPod Nano, and iPod Classic.

More mindless time wasters? Sign me up!

That is a rather busty woman in that screen shot too. I had no idea Block Breaker was so sexy!

I bet Apple sells millions. Games are going to be huge, $5 is very cheap for a portable game. This would make the iPod/touch/iPhone cheaper than a psp or Gameboy if we get enough games.

Time Wasters

You know, people don't kill time. It's really the other way around.

What would happen if people actually just sat and thought instead of tying their minds on mindless games?

Life is short. Break the rules. Forgive quickly. Kiss slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

Games should not exist Fun should not exist

And my desire to "interact with cool characters" in Pong truly does NOT exist... I hope this game is half as unintentionally funny as it sounds

wth sandynjosh? What if games make you smile? What if you have time to think AND play games? Crazy thought.

Bonte: These games are a bit daft, I like mindless stuff, i like all types of games, but the reason they're cheap compared to "proper" portable games is because they pale in comparison to them. There are some seriously epic/complex/clever games on the DS & PSP, the ipod has phone-level games. They have their place but nobodyis going to buy an ipod for games.

Not wanting to come across as sounding too brutal but...

why should I care?

Since when does iPod games deep a front page post?
I accepted this at first, but we don't announce when EA ships it's games, or many other softwares for that matter...

It's it time to draw the line between what is worth of front page recognition and what isn't?

(for example, how is the folding@home team doing?

Yes, the games are 'cheap' (remember to back them up) but they are balls.

In this case, you're at least partially right. Moved to page2.

Not to bring us off-topic, but MacRumors folding@home is the 29th highest ranked team (that's out of many thousands, I believe).

Lemmings

Personally, I'd love to see Lemmings for iPhone. Would work really well with a touch screen interface.

I had this game for my previous Sony phone and it was incredibly addictive. I probably played it more than any other game ever - give it a shot.

Great game for what it is. Had it for my cell and was completely addicted. Anybody know if they'll start making games for the touch? This would make a great port if you had to move your paddle with your finger.

...the hell? Shouldn't you be posting this in a PSP thread? This has nothing to do with Block Breaker OR iPods... *shakes head* try the search. And if that doesn't work, try the PSP user manual, as I'm SURE it will tell you what to do (PSP owner myself).

And bonus points for linking the apple gif...

But, doesn't this game already come pre-installed for free on all ipods? So it's the exact same game as the free pre-installed game Brickout, but with fancier gameplay and slightly better graphics? And on ipod classics it's the exact same game as the free pre-installed game Vortex, except with worse graphics and no better gameplay?

I don't get it.
