Apple Announces Pink iPod nano

Apple has announced the addition of a pink 8GB iPod nano to its lineup.

Quote:
The much-requested pink iPod nano is available immediately in an 8GB model for $199. iPod nano features a two-inch display which lets users watch the brand new iTunes(R) Movie Rentals, or TV shows and music videos purchased from the iTunes Store. iPod nano delivers up to 24 hours of audio playback or five hours of video playback on a single charge* and is encased in a beautiful all-metal design made with anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel, which is also available in silver, black, blue, green and a (PRODUCT) RED special edition.
The pink iPod nano is available worldwide immediately, however so far only the US Apple Store has been updated. We have heard that some UK retailers have already received stock.

So is this Andrea's idea, or does it have something to do about a pink Zune?

They already have blue and green. Do you mean dark blue and dark green?

I have to say, I'm not crazy about any of the colors, it would be nice to have at least one dark color (besides black) instead of all pastels. Even the red one should be more red, it looks more on the pinkish side right now.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good nano case? I just got the iSkin, and it's super lame, I need to take it back and try something else.

Apple always updates iPods in the fall, it hasn't been long at all since the last batch of major updates (october?).

Given the Apple TV is subsidised by movie rentals (hence price drop). When do we see a price drop for iPods/iPhone too?

btw. a pink metallic Macbook (not necessarily Pro) would sell like hot cakes.

I believe Apple has to pay the RIAA some money for each iPod sold. Steve said himself that most iPods have pirated music on them because people are fed up with DRM so much. You also pay that fee when you buy a CD or DVD burning drive.

There are neat transparent snap on cases for Macbook. They make it a little thicker but it's a neat protection and it looks pretty neat. Just google "macbook" and "case".

Exactly.

They could have announced it last week at MWSF, but chose not to.

Not bad, now all they have to do is brighten the red one and get rid of the muted ugly green and blue ones.

Since we are already off topic, I have noticed that all threads related to MBP or not have people asking for an update to the MBP. Man I hope Apple does something soon or we are going to have riots. And no I don't have or want a MBP, just wanted to document my observations.

That is honestly the most depressing statement I've read on this forum. Cheer up buddy! Life is gooood!

If I had any need for a Nano I'd be all over this.

It's a girl thing. You wouldn't understand.
