24" LCD for Powerbook, BenQ G2400W any good?

I'm looking for a 24" LCD. I'm currently using my 12" Powerbook (G4 1.33GHz) screen for photo / graphics / video work, so i could really do with some extra pixelidge, but in terms of image quality, anything better than the Powerbook is fine.

I've seen the BenQ G2400W going for under 260, it's got a fast response time (5ms) and HDMI input, so I can use it with my Playstation.

Does anyone have any experience with this model or know why it's so much cheaper than the BenQ FP241W?

Otherwise, are there any other good 24" displays for under 300, preferably with HDMI in?

And are there any noticeable differences between having HDMI straight in rather than a HDMI-DVI adapter?
