I've already scouted online for answers but i can't find out where Apple hides the bootpanel.pdf file. Please help!

As in the file picture that is behind the login screen, if so it is called DefaultDesktop and is located here /System/Library/CoreServices/DefaultDesktop.jpg

Not that one. It's the picture when you first boot up your mac, the grey screen with the dark grey apple in the middle.

I don't think it is possible to change that unless you want to some hoe change the EFI.

Hmm i stumbled across an application called bootXchanger that switches it for you. After reading your post i'm kinda scared to use it for fear of it tampering with my EFI. 🙁
