Imagine being able to sit in front of your widescreen HDTV and navigating to an Apple site modeled after iTunes. Guess we can't call it iTV or iMovies, so I'll let your imagination work that out. Sony is working on developing a new TV that can download Video-On-Demand (VOD) directly from the internet (http://www.detnews.com/2003/technology/0310/19/technology-301202.htm). How beautiful it would be to have an iTunes style VOD store to do it from. Talk about Carma!

Forget MediaCenter and bringing movies to the PC. I want movies (and sporting events) on demand for my TV. Gateway and Sony make plasma TV's. I think Apple should move into this market and build a VOD on-line store to back it up. If they don't, Movielink http://www.movielink.com (a joint venture among Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures) will walk away with all that business.

What does "convergence" mean to you? Steve Perlman (formerly of Apple) has created the Moxi STB http://www.moxi.com/prodserv/moxi_overview.jsp which even does HDTV, but is still just a nice DVR from what I can tell. I want a library to select from, not just the ability to record and play back. What do you think?
