Has anybody had any personal experience with the SmartDrive FireWire hard drives that are being offerred for the .mac promo? I'm trying to find a cheap, reliable, FW hard drive in the range of 60-120 GB, and I was wondering if these would fit the bill.

If anybody has any better recommendations, I'm all ears. Just remember that I have to take advantage of this deal by October 22, which is coming up. 🙂

Thanks for any advice anybody can give me.

I have one of the FireLite models that are listed for the promo, but only in 20GB size, not 40. I love it. Extremely portable -- carries in your pants pocket. Durable -- I carry it everyday.

For the record, I use a LaCie 160GB Firewire backup drive. I'm sure these SmartDrive units in larger sizes are just as reliable.
