I downloaded the free trial version of Adobe InDesign CS3 from Adobe's website and after a long, 800MB download, I get this error whenever I try to open the file.

----------------------------------------------------
The following disk images failed to import:

Image: ADBEIDSNCS3_WWE.dmg
Reason: codec overrun

----------------------------------------------------

Any ideas? I searched the forums through the old codec overrun threads but all I found was information saying that the file is corrupted. Seeing as it's a very popular download from Adobe, I can't see why this would be the case.

Same Prob...

:apple:

I've had the same problem - I downloaded Maya8.5PLE (Personal Learning Edition)

It comes up with codec overrun.
It's not very popular but it's industry standard...

I had the same problem with Netscape (Apple Downloads)

Can somebody help?????? :(:( :confused::confused: :apple::apple:

True...

True but sometimes the installer fails and the window is too fast for me anyway...

Greetings all. A solution to the codec overrun problem is to boot from Linux (I used Mepis 7.0 and the Konqueror Browser and booted on the PeeSea). I then downloaded the same .dmgs that wouldn't load and they worked fine! I had previously downloaded the same files with different Browsers on the PeeSea but had mounting problems on the Mac.

I don't think the problem is the Mac itself but the way in which the data it downloaded/assembled on the Hard drive. I have not been using the Mac for downloading.

I hope this helps you as it as for me. :D
